Watch Movies or Netflix in Bed with Comfort

Trust me when I say this... 😊

If you're watching movies or Netflix on your laptop siting on a table or something, you're missing out on a life-changing experience! 😲

Ever since I've started watching movies while lying in bed, at night, I have found it to be a  revolutionary thing really, just a life changing experience overall. 🙌

How is this has been a life changing experience for me? 🤔

Well, here are a few of the positive changes I've seen since then: 📃

These are the few of the benefits that I could remember. I will discuss these in more detail later on in the article...

But first, let me share the step-by-step process of how I have managed to get the most comfortable movie watching experience lying in bed.

Watch Movies or Netflix in Bed Comfortably

Step 1 - Get a Smartphone with the Best Display

Yes, we'll be watching our movies or streaming Netflix on a Smartphone, not a Laptop.

I've seen people try to bring their laptops with them in their bed and then they ask on the Internet that what is the best and comfortable position to watch movies or Netflix or YouTube Videos on a laptop while laying down in bed?

I too did that a few times, but I quickly turned back to my smartphone!

A laptop is too heavy and too big for you to be comfortable in bed. It has to stay on a table or on your lap or something that is steady and does not move a lot. That is why a smartphone is the best way to go, if you're looking for comfort and that cosy feeling!

Don't cheap out on the smartphone! Get the best one, with the best display!

Because I have done this terrible mistake!

I got a Lenovo P2 for the specs it had, and for the price it had at the time.

It has an awful display! Even though it was advertised as "made by Samsung" but still, I find it a terrible display to watch anything on!

Being a low-quality OLED display, it darkens all the dark scenes to pitch black level where I can't even see anything, all the night scenes just look pitch-black to me. I even sometimes have to increase my display brightness to a 50% or a 100% sometimes to be able to see those details I am losing because of this cheap OLED display!

So yeah, just don't cheap out on the smartphone, or anything for that matter that I recommend.

Trust me, I speak from experience, and I don't want you to go through the same hell that I've been through, because of cheaping out on some things.

Step 2 - Get some Good Quality Wireless Earbuds

Why 'Wireless'?

Because I have used tens of headphones, earbuds and God knows what!

And I have found the Wireless Earbuds to be the best of them all, in terms of comfort as well as sound quality, apparently.

When I was trying out 'wired' headphones or earbuds of any kind, the wire would come in way and ruin the comfortable experience we all are craving for!

The wire would not let me move around freely, plus it would not let me hold the mobile the way I wanted to.

I tried Sennheiser's HD 180 headphones, and they just blocked my ears and I started to feel some pain on my ears even minutes after wearing them.

Wasn't a pleasant experience at all.

They don't sound very good too.

The build quality is kinda good, but my overall experience with them has been terrible as well.

I've also tried some other brands of headphones, and they weren't very comfortable either. But the sound was a bit better than the Sennheiser ones.

I've also tried Apple EarPods that came with 3.5mm Headphone Jack, and their sound was Decent, but they also pained my ears after an hour or so of continues use.

Finally, I came across a good pair of Wireless Earbuds, which I would like to keep secret, because I have upgraded after using those pair of earbuds, and the ones I have right now, are even better in terms of overall sound and build quality and comfort.

These sound absolutely amazing for the price, and are very comfortable. I hadn't tried anything this comfortable until I got these babies!

Also, once I started using wireless earbuds, I also got rid of that wire tangling and limiting me from comfortably holding my smartphone as well. Now I can have it wherever I want, I can hold the smartphone in two hands, in one had or however I find it comfortable, because no wire is in the way anymore.

Step 3 - Go and start watching Netflix!

Yup! You now have everything that you need to comfortably start watching movies lying in bed.

Before you go and start watching though, I'd recommend checking out an App that lets you dim your display's brightness and block those blue colors that keep you awake at night, if you do not stop looking at them, even when the day is over.

So the App that I like to use for that purpose, is called Twilight. It is a Freemium application, and I am using the Free version.

Only one thing is left now...

What's the Best Position to lie-down?

Well, while you're in bed, at night, the only position you have in mind is to lie-down, really. And no matter how you do that, you're always comfortable.

Because you're lying down in your bed, at night, and are tired of all the work you've been doing the entire day, you're feeling comfortable for that reason as well.

If you feel you need to turn over to the other side, right or left side, you can do without feeling discomfort.

Plus, no wire is in the way, as you're using a good pair of wireless earbuds, that is another one of the reasons that you're feeling comfortable.

Also, the wireless earbuds have the best and some of the softest ear-tips that I've experienced so far, so that is also one of the sources of comfort.

All these things do their part in offering you the best and the most comfortable movie watching experience you've ever had!

This method of watching movies in bed via your smartphone, and a wireless pair of earbuds, is even more comfortable in Winter season!

It is the most cosy and warm feeling I know of, watching movies in bed, while you have a Razai on you, and you're holding your smartphone and you have no worries of any wires, just freedom from everything!

Benefits of Following this Method

I'm not sure if you will feel the same positive things happening for you too, but it never hurts to try, right?

So, ever since I have started watching movies in bed, at night while lying down on my back most of the times, with the getting most cosy feeling I know of, here are some of the positive changes that I have felt in my day to day life.

No sleeping problems

Can not sleep at night

I know that a very large number of people in today's world are facing some kind of sleeping disorders around the world. I was one of them as well, before I started practicing this habit of watching movies at night, while lying down in bed, on my smartphone.

I use my laptop a lot at day time, mainly for writing on this blog for you guys, and doing some other work that I do on the Internet. This is probably the reason I could not fall asleep quickly at night a few years back.

But, that changed when I started watching movies at night.

I have been able to fall asleep usually after watching one movie or a couple of episode of some TV show that I am watching at that time.

I'd say that just try it yourself, and let me know in the comments, or just email me about your experience with this method of watching movies or Netflix at night in bed. Was it comfortable and soothing for you too?

It's the most comfortable way to watch movies or Netflix

I've already mentioned it quite a few times.

In fact, in the early days, when I recently had started following this routine, I used to fall asleep without even plugging out the earbuds out of my ears. Sometimes, the smartphone kept playing the episodes and I would notice it in the morning.

This is how comfortable it is to watch movies while you're in bed, sometimes you can't resist but fall asleep, even if the movie keeps on playing, and you keep on hearing the audio.

10+ hours of binge-watching? No issues!

Yep, I've done that as well.

Occasionally, whenever I find something that I can't just stop watching, and I end up watching the whole season in 10 hours or so, even on those days I do not feel discomfort with this method.

You're lying down, what kind of discomfort would you feel?

Even if you do feel that you need to turn over, you can and it feels like you've just started watching and no tiredness.

The main credit I would give in all these long comfortable movie watching sessions, would be to our Wireless Earbuds. Because their ear-tips are so soft and comfortable that they don't hurt our ears, and we can keep watching for as long as we like, until the battery dies.

Here's a way to fall asleep when you can't!

Well, because I almost on daily basis watch a movie now, or anime or any kind of cartoon that I am into at the time. So I discover movies or TV shows that a normal person wouldn't, who does not watch movies that often.

One day, I decided to give Toy Story a shot!

I had heard a lot of good things about the series, but I had never try to watch them before. So I thought why not just get started today.

So, I did.

And when I downloaded the first movie from the Toy Story series, I started watching it...

A few minutes into the movie, and I started to yawn and feel drowsiness! 😅

After that, I could go to sleep, but I didn't, and I just skipped the movie and started watching something else.

And the next day, again, I tried to continue from where I left off the last day, and same, I again started to yawn and feel drowsiness and it was so boring to keep trying to watch the same thing again and again.

So again, I left the movie and started watching something else! 😂

This is how I discovered that when you try to watch something that is SO BORING that you can't even finish it, you start to yawn and feel drowsy and sleepy.

That is when you should just place your mobile somewhere and just go with the flow - go to sleep.

No nightmares!

Prevent Nightmares by Watching Movies at Night

Yeah, I used to get nightmares when I did not have this habit of watching movies at night.

But ever since I have started doing so, I've only dreamed about the movie or TV show that I watched that night, or was into that whole week.

So if you wanna have good and cosy dreams, I'd suggest you to watch something similar, that gives you the feeling you want in your dreams.

I almost can't remember any nightmare that I had, and when I had it for the last time.

Everything there is to know about a ChromeBook

To be honest, even I didn't know a lot about ChromeBooks before writing this post! 😅

And I am ashamed of myself for that! 😔 I run a laptop related blog, and I did not even try to learn about ChromeBooks, a specific kind of laptop that is designed for a specific kinda of a user? Shame on you, Omar! 😠

Well...

I had a lot of questions in my mind as well about ChromeBooks, like how do they work, what even are ChromeBooks.

But, that changes today!

Today I've decided to learn about ChromeBooks.

I've decided that I will research and answer any and every question that I personally have about a ChromeBook and then will share that with you here in this post. So, that is exactly what I have done now.

I've researched all the questions that I had about ChromeBooks, and also have found tons of questions that the Internet itself had about them, like all the humanity that uses Google to search about ChromeBooks just like I should've done. :/

I now have collected all the data and knowledge collected from all that research, and have tried to compile it into this one blog post.

It's probably is going to be the biggest blog post I've ever written, and you've ever read. But, I also have tried to make it a bite-sized, sweet and easy to read post, so you don't get bored and I don't get a penalty from Google for not publishing a useful blog post.

Even if you don't trust me, just know that I would love to help you out, to get more traffic from Google so I can make more money. See? Why would I chop my own feet with my own ax, right? ;)

Anyways, enough chit-chat, let's just get into it now, shall we? 😈

What are ChromeBooks?

What even IS a ChromeBook? 🤔

Let me first clear out the main question you have, which would be What even is a ChromeBook? And who's its main and target audience? Who should get it? And stuff...

Well, it's a fact, that whenever you are using your computer or your laptop, 90% or more percent of the time, you probably are in your browser, or are doing something that is not possible if you did not have a browser installed on your laptop or PC.

Chances are that if you did not have an Internet connection today, you probably would not even consider opening up that laptop or computer.

Because the Internet is everything in today's age.

No matter if you are watching videos, Netflix, YouTube or are writing an email in your Gmail account, or are reading through today's latest happenings on BBC, or whatever.

I'm not sure about you, but that is definitely true and a fact when it comes to my usage of my laptop. I for sure almost always am using Chrome Browser and browsing through the Internet, mostly Facebook and YouTube.

But, nonetheless, its true in my case, is it also true in yours?

The thing is if you just do these basic tasks that do not require any fancy software, but just your average Chrome browser...

...What if I told you that you could get a laptop that just had a browser in it and no other fancy software that make it more expensive than it really needs to be?

What if you could do all these basic tasks and save a huge sum of money at the same time?

You guessed it!

It's a ChromeBook! 🙂

ChromeBook is a laptop from Google themselves, which features Chrome OS, and not some fancy featured Windows or Linux or Mac OS. It's simple and offers you all the things you do on daily basis, without the extra load of bloatware that your regular laptop would come with.

This is the reason a ChromeBook is a very cheap laptop and can be bought usually in under $300 or so.

You can watch movies on ChromeBooks, do all kinds of stuff that you'd normally do on a Chrome or any browser you open up every time you login to your laptop. No matter if it is watching YouTube, Netflix, or any kind of Streaming, a ChromeBook has got you covered.

You open up your ChromeBook, and it is ready to serve you in your regular web surfing habits within a few seconds. You do your work, whatever you wanna do using the Chrome Browser, and close it up, that's it!

ChromeBooks tend to have HUGE battery lives as well.

Because it isn't running a full-fledged Operating System like Windows or Mac OS, it offers hours and hours of battery backup. You can even get a full day worth of battery life out of one charge, sometimes.

This is something you can't even imagine on a regular laptop, let alone a gaming laptop!

ChromeBook is shaping up to be a perfect college laptop and a work laptop for office use, from the moment it has launched.

Some of the reasons why ChromeBooks are getting popular around the world include:

  • ChromeBooks are Low Cost
  • Insane Battery Life
  • Fast & Efficient Performance - No Lags
  • Best for College Use
  • Best Laptop for Office Use
  • It's Perfect for Home Use too

2. Why and How are ChromeBooks Low Cost?

Because a ChromeBook does not run Windows or any other OS, but is just a browser type of OS, it does not need powerful hardware that would cost too much and raise the final price overall. This is why ChromeBooks don't end up hurting your bank balance and are plenty useful.

A ChromeBook is almost like an iPhone in Under $300. It works great, is well built and looks great, without lags and satisfies whoever decides to get it.

3. Is it just a Browser then?

Absolutely not!

A ChromeBook isn't just a browser.

You've probably seen the Chrome Web Store where you get Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc... All those Apps you can use on a ChromeBook.

You can also use Android Apps on Chrome OS, in a ChromeBook.

Basically, if you are not a Power User, or a Content Creator or a Gamer, and you don't need to run CPU heavy or GPU heavy software on your laptop, a ChromeBook is a perfect solution for you in that case.

It will save you money and will provide you a hassle-free user experience that Google loves to offer to their user base, no matter whatever service they're using that is powered by Google, they want you to be happy with them and keep coming back for more.

4. Is it possible to Install Chrome OS on a regular laptop?

It absolutely is! 🙂

In fact, you can even install Chrome OS on old laptops that aren't of any use to you, because they're so old that they can't handle the latest operating systems that are out there these days.

Chrome OS is so light, it can run on almost any hardware no matter if it is not powerful enough to handle Windows or Linux operating system.

You can even install Windows on a ChromeBook if you want, but that isn't something that I would recommend doing. You can get a regular laptop for that because running Windows wouldn't be a pleasure on a ChromeBook, as it does not have a powerful hardware to support its features.

It was designed to run Chrome OS so please keep it that way.

5. Are there any CONS to using ChromeBooks?

Unfortunately, yes! 😔

But fortunately, they aren't the ones that should keep you from buying one. Because those are the things that make a ChromeBook unique and a favorite choice for someone like me who does browsing almost all the time and watches videos, but rarely does he play some games or any tasks that require a powerful hardware combination.

Those cons are:

  • You can't play Games on ChromeBooks
  • You can't edit videos
  • Can't use any software that requires you to have Windows OS

6. Are ChromeBooks Good for College?

Definitely! :)

They are perfect for a college student, or any kind of student for that matter.

Unless you are a student enrolled in a design course, in which you have to use software like Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or InDesign, or similar software to these, you're perfectly fine to use a ChromeBook for your college studies.

Although, you won't be able to play games or anything on your ChromeBook, as you've already read it before, that ChromeBooks aren't much of gaming laptops. You pretty much can't do anything that is related to gaming. But, you can watch YouTube, Netflix or Twitch, if you're looking to pass your recess time.

7. Are ChromeBook Chargers Universal?

Unfortunately, not yet.

Just like any regular laptop, ChromeBook chargers aren't universal at all at this point. But, as USB-C catches on, I'm sure all the devices will be able to use the same charger, no matter if it is your Bluetooth EarBuds, or an Android Smartphone you have, or your USB-C laptop, and finally, your ChromeBook.

In short, soon all the chargers will be universal and will be able to charge any electronic device when the USB-C is widely used. Perhaps by 2020 or so?

8. Is ChromeBook Touchscreen?

Not all of them, but yes, ChromeBooks do have Touchscreens. Here is a list of Best ChromeBooks you can buy that do have Touchscreens from Android Authority.

9. Are All ChromeBooks Apps FREE?

Yes, they are.

As you know ChromeBooks run on Chrome OS and all the Apps that are in the Chrome OS are absolutely FREE, just like Google Chrome Extensions.

10. Are ChromeBooks Secure?

Without a doubt! :)

They're more secure than a Windows laptop, at least. But, there could be malicious code on a website that infects your laptop when you accidentally click on it. But, ChromeBooks are more secure towards that as well.

Just to explain it in an easier to understand way, you won't need an Antivirus on a ChromeBook. See how secure ChromeBooks are now? ;) They're more secure than any operating system I know of, even Mac OS.

11. What are the Limitations of a ChromeBook?

I've already answered this question in my introduction as well.

But, let me again rephrase it for you, in case you did not read that part and just wanna read it here, in simple terms.

Here are all the limitations I know of:

  • You can't play games on a ChromeBook
  • You can't use any Adobe Software on a ChromeBook
  • Can't use any software that runs on Windows or Mac OS
  • Can't do advanced coding on ChromeBooks
  • Can't edit videos on ChromeBooks
These are some of the restrictions with a ChromeBook. But, in case you wanna do all this, I'd suggest getting a regular Windows-based gaming laptop that isn't too expensive and can handle all these things with ease.

Although, I would strongly suggest you get a ChromeBook as well at the same time, because whenever you are in a lighter mode, and just wanna browse through the internet and don't wanna do anything creative, in those times a ChromeBook would be a better choice.

Also, these limitations probably aren't the only ones. Because it depends on how you use like to use your laptop, what type of workflow you have, only then any limitation can matter to you. Like if I edit videos on my laptop, and I can't on a ChromeBook, that has the power to change my decision if I wanna buy a ChromeBook or not. But, if I don't edit videos, it won't matter to me if a ChromeBook can't be used for video editing.

So yeah, these are the limitations of a ChromeBook for me, for my type of workflow, for what I use a laptop for.

12. What are ChromeBook Extensions?

If you've used Chrome Browser before, you probably have also used a Chrome Extension of some kind in it. Those exact extensions can also be used on a ChromeBook. Furthermore, here is a list of 10 Best Chrome OS Extensions from PCMag.

13. What are the Best ChromeBook Settings?

If you've recently purchased a ChromeBook for yourself, here is a YouTube Video that I'd recommend you to watch and follow, in case you have no idea how to set up your ChromeBook.

Here is an article, in case you don't like watching videos much. But I'd really suggest you check both of these out, the article as well as the video.

14. Are All ChromeBook Keyboards the Same?

More or less yes. There could be a few changes in every model of the ChromeBook, depending on its size and design, but the keyboard layout is almost the same on all the ChromeBooks.

15. What are ChromeBooks used for?

I've already covered this question in my introductions of ChromeBooks. But still, let me again share a few words here.

ChromeBooks are simply used for all the tasks you can do in a browser, without having to install a specific software. Because a ChromeBook is just like Chrome Browser, you can install extensions, browse the web, play videos, even play online lightweight games that do not require an installation.

They're basically designed for people who want to do basic things and do not want to spend a whole lot of money on a regular laptop, as a regular laptop comes with a lot of shenanigans that a normal human being would never need. Like a Terabyte of Hard Drive, Dedicated GPU, and a powerful processor.

A simple college student or a home user would just need something that is basic, like a tablet, and does not hang or anything, and simply just works!

A ChromeBook is just that.

It is stylish, well-built, has no bugs, runs fast!

16. How much are ChromeBook chargers?

Well, just like any other regular laptop charger, a ChromeBook's charger also can cost starting at under 10 dollars, and up to $50 or so.

Here is a list of ChromeBook Chargers that you can check out on Amazon to get an idea about their pricing.

17. Can a ChromeBook Run Microsoft Office?

Unfortunately, you can not use full-fledged MS Office suite on your ChromeBook. You'll either have to get the Light version of MS Office from Google Play Store, or you can get it from here if your ChromeBook uses Chrome Web Store.

To find out which one would you have to go with, visit this document from Google.

18. How to install Office apps on a ChromeBook?

Here's a step-by-step tutorial on how to install MS office apps on your ChromeBook:

  1. Go to Play Store and search for the app you want to install.
  2. Click the Install Button.
  3. Once it is installed, click on the Launcher, and click on the app to open it up.
  4. Sign in with your MS office account or Microsoft account, and continue.

19. Can a ChromeBook also run Windows?

Yes, it can. 🙂

But, the fact that it is a light-weight and low-performance hardware laptop, for a Windows OS, you won't be able to enjoy your experience of using Windows on a ChromeBook.

I really would not recommend it.

Although, you can, however, install Chrome OS on a laptop that is no longer in your use, because it can't handle the most recent Windows OS because of its less powerful hardware. It'll almost run just like a ChromeBook for you, in case you wanna save some money and also at the same time recycle your old laptop.

20. Can a ChromeBook run Steam?

You can visit your steam account online, by visiting their website. But, you, unfortunately, would not be able to use Steam as you are able to on a regular Windows-based laptop.

First, the hardware isn't up to par, second, you do not have Windows OS to install a Windows based application, which is the Steam app. Thus, you can only use its online web version.

Keep in mind, ChromeBook is a browser, all the activity you can do on a browser is possible on it, but installing software isn't one of those things.

21. Can a ChromeBook Get Virus?

Fortunately, they can't! 🙂

Because you can't run and install executable files on a ChromeBook like you can do on a Windows laptop, you're always safe from this vulnerability.

Although, you can, however, get hacked! Remember? There are phishing pages out there that are always trying to get people that aren't very knowledgeable about the Internet.

If you have been in the Technology and the Internet world for a while, you have nothing to worry about.

22. Can ChromeBook Run Fortnite?

If you've read the article to this point, you'll find this question really funny! 😂 Because all we've been talking about here is that a ChromeBook can't run any Windows-based Programs.

So, you can't play Fortnite, and ChromeBook can't run Fortnite, unfortunately.

On the other hand, you can, if you like, play some online games, like 8 Ball Pool or something that isn't very hard on your processor or graphics.

23. Can a ChromeBook run Adobe Photoshop?

Nope, it can't! 😔

However, you can use the Online Web-based version of Photoshop, which does not have to be installed on your computer. Because if you wanna install it, you will have to install Windows on your ChromeBook, as the Chrome OS does not support any application that runs on Windows or Mac OS or even Linux.

24. Can we use iTunes on a ChromeBook?

Nope, we can't use that either.

ChromeBook can't run iTunes, but you can, however, add Music from iTunes to your Google Play Music library.

25. Can we use MS Word on a ChromeBook?

Sure, you can.

Go ahead and install Word Online into your laptop and you're done.

Or, if you wanna install all the Office Apps, here is the link of the entire suite.

26. Can we install Windows 10 on a ChromeBook?

Yes, we can.

And I've already mentioned it a few times before, that you shouldn't do it. It probably will cause more issues than the benefits.

But still, if you wanna go ahead and install it, here's a step-by-step video tutorial on how to do it.

27. Can a ChromeBook be used Offline?

A ChromeBook is a browser-based laptop and operating system.

Now if you do not connect it to the Internet, how are you supposed to use it?

Everything you'll ever do on a ChromeBook, would be in the Chrome Browser, and it is useless without an active Internet Connection.

There you have it, your answer.

28. Can ChromeBook Run Android Apps?

Definitely! 🙂

Here is a video tutorial from Gary on the subject.

29. Can a ChromeBook play Roblox?

Yep, it can.

But, for that, your ChromeBook's Chrome Operating System has to be the most recent and up-to-date one. Also, you have to enable Google Play Store from the settings, if it isn't already enabled, as it uses the Mobile App version of the Roblox to run on a ChromeBook.

Also, keep in mind that the Roblox does not work with any Bluetooth based devices.

30. Can we play Minecraft on a ChromeBook?

Yes, you can play Minecraft on a ChromeBook.

There are two ways you can install and play Minecraft on your ChromeBook.

The first one would be by installing it from Google Play Store, as you know that you can run Android Apps on a ChromeBook, so it is also an Android Game, which means you can run it on a ChromeBook.

The second method, is to install the Chrome Web Store application version.

Nope, it can't be, fortunately. :)

But, Online Accounts can still be hacked, though.

If you visit unknown websites and put your personal information there, that can lead your information to get hacked or stolen by someone who's not going to be very friendly with you, once he has that information.

Simply put, even if you can't get a virus or your ChromeBook can't be hacked, your data still can be hacked, if you wander around the internet posting your personal information, signing up on god knows what kind of un-trusted websites.

32. Can ChromeBook Run Windows Apps?

Nope, it can't.

You can only use Google Chrome Extensions and Apps on a ChromeBook.

However, you can use Windows Apps too on it, by installing Windows on your ChromeBook. But, as I've mentioned it countless times already, please do not use Windows on your ChromeBook, it isn't designed to run Windows on it, leave it as it is supposed to be.

If you install Windows on it, the performance of the hardware that is inside your ChromeBook would never be up to par to run most of the Windows Apps or Software anyways, so keep it on Chrome OS.

33. How does a ChromeBook work?

Here is a short and sweet explanation from LaptopMag:

A Chromebook is a laptop of a different breed. Instead of Windows 10 or macOS, Chromebooks run Google's Chrome OS. These machines are designed to be used primarily while connected to the Internet, with most applications and documents living in the cloud.

34. How to Check Specs of a ChromeBook?

Here is a handy video tutorial on how you can check the specs of your ChromeBook:

35. What ChromeBook Should I Buy?

Well, it all depends.

Because all the ChromeBooks are almost the same in the hardware sense, so the choice you really have is the design of the laptop.

Just look at a few devices and see which one of them do you like the best. And in the end, go with the one you found to be really attractive, for your taste.

Also, keep an eye on the keyboard layout as well when checking out the design, because with some designs, they have to change or even remove some buttons of the keyboard to compensate for the design changes.

36. What ChromeBook is Best for Gaming?

No ChromeBook is best for gaming, really.

As we've already discussed, a ChromeBook is just for the purpose of having a lightweight, fast and working laptop that does not disappoint and offers as much battery life as possible, does not hang and does not heat up either.

These are some of the many reasons why people get a ChromeBook.

37. When was the first ChromeBook released?

The first Chromebooks for sale, by Acer Inc. and Samsung, began shipping on June 15, 2011. In addition to laptop models, a desktop version, called a Chromebox, was introduced in May 2012, and an "all-in-one" device, called a Chromebase, was introduced in January 2014, by LG Electronics. (Wikipedia)

38. What is a ChromeBook Pro?

Samsung's Chromebook Pro and Plus for 2017 were the company's next evolution in its Chromebook effort. The Samsung Chromebook Pro sports an Intel Core M processor, a 2,560 x 1,600 display, and multiple USB-C 3.1 ports. At $549, though, the Chromebook Pro is one of the more expensive Chrome OS options on the market. (Digital Trends)

39. Where to Buy a ChromeBook in India?

Well, what would be the best place to buy anything in today's age? The Internet! :) So that is what I would suggest you to get your ChromeBook for as well. Check out Amazon, Flipkart or whichever Online Shopping website you use to buy your gadgets, use that one to buy yourself a ChromeBook.

Fix the Windows 10 Brightness Issue in Videos

I have been facing this annoying Windows 10 Brightness Issue for a week now almost. 😠

Finally, I have found a solution! 😅

Windows 10 Brightness Issue in Videos

Hang on a sec...

But first, please let me clear what exactly the issue was, so you do not end up wasting your time on this article, and only go ahead and read it if you were also facing this same exact issue, so you can get the solution that worked for me, and be happy with your life from then on.

So, a few days ago, when Microsoft released a feature update to their most latest Operating System, Windows 10, I started to notice a really frustrating issue, which was related to brightness automatically increasing and decreasing when I watch any video on VLC player on my Windows 10 laptop.

My brightness went to a 100% whenever I double clicked in the VLC player and made the player play the video at full screen resolution. That was really annoying and killed my eyes when it happened for the first time.

I found the solution!

I searched a lot and did not quite find the right and working solution to this brightness problem of Windows 10.

And after a few days of research, trying out different solutions and tricks trying to solve this issue and get back to those good old days when I could watch all the videos without facing this annoying issue, I finally found an answer. I found a solution that I did not try before.

And the reason I was experiencing this terrible brightness issue, that I was using Bitdefender Antivirus!

Oh boy, what a shocking discovery it was for me!

Actually, I was kinda glad that it was Bitdefender that was causing this issue. Because it was also giving me annoying notifications almost every time I opened up my laptop. I got tired of seeing those notifications and alerts, and had decided to revert back to Avast - a free antivirus software.

But, when I tried that solution, it also did not work, for some reason!

When I was disabling the movie profile, as mentioned in the solution I found, it kept reappearing again and again. Also very annoying, just like the overall experience I had with Bitdefender.

This time though, I wasn't discouraged at all. Because I knew what was the cause of this issue. Because I knew that the Bitdefender antivirus was the cause, I thought why not just take the time and Uninstall it completely, and revert back to Avast? Just like I already had planned to do, but because of my laziness, i did not get the time to uninstall it.

So, after I removed the annoying little software, and restarted my laptop - Acer Predator Helios 300 - I was pleasantly surprised!

Yes, the issue was gone!

There you have it, the solution to this brightness issue of "Windows 10" and my terrible experience with Bitdefender, lol!

How weird, right?

We were here to solve our brightness problem we were having with Windows 10, and ended up Uninstalling Bitdefender? xD

Should I too convert to Avast?

Well, I can't say for sure.

If you have paid for the Bitdefender's subscription and have no choice but to use this, then you should probably stick to it.

But, in case you also were using a promo of 6 months for FREE from Bitdefender, or perhaps were just using the Free or Trial version of it, I'd say drop it and pick up Avast instead.

It is 100% FREE!

It also forces you sometimes to upgrade, but you really do not need to. The free version works just fine.

Final thoughts...

Anyways, if you found this article helpful, do not please forget to share it with those who have been through the same hell like you and I have been through.

One last time, in case you are interested in laptops overall, I think you're gonna like what I do here on Laptop Anatomy. Just have a look around and feel free to bookmark the blog, in case you are interested what I do here.

If not, that's OK as well.

Have a good one!

Should you buy Nvidia RTX? — NO! Here's why...

Is Nvidia RTX worth it? 🤔

Should I buy Nvidia RTX GPU? 😕

What even IS Nvidia RTX? 😂

I'm sure questions like these about Nvidia RTX cards are coming in your and everyone's mind these days. But, worry not! I'm here to answer and clear hopefully most of your confusions about this new series of Graphic Cards that Nvidia has released.

Should you buy Nvidia RTX GPU?

Should you buy an Nvidia RTX card?

First of all, you gotta know what it is, what are some of the improvements it brings on the table, compared to its predecessors, Nvidia GTX series cards.

So, what IS the difference?

Well, as you probably know, that Nvidia did not share any numbers in their presentation when they were talking about this new series of GPUs called Nvidia RTX. Because these GPUs are designed keeping the FUTURE of Video Games in mind.

And remember, the word "future" is key here!

Because right now, no one really needs or wants the improvements these cards bring to the table. Just about anything that the older Nvidia GTX 1080 or 1080 Ti could do, these new RTX cards would do as well. Maybe a little bit better?

But, does that little bit of improvement in frame rates justifies you buying one of these new cards? Of course it doesn't!

Dave Lee also shared his thoughts about these new GPUs and how are they useful, or are they worth upgrading to? I'd strongly recommend checking his video out. I'm embedding it here in this post:

As you've watched in the video, these new cards are all about the Ray-tracing Technology that "game -makers" can use to create almost realistic looking visuals and graphics in the games.

Should I upgrade to Nvidia RTX, as a Gamer?

Nvidia RTX for Gamers

It's simple!

If you're someone who just likes to upgrade their hardware, even if the newly released one has BUGS in it that needs to be fixed before you can fully enjoy it, I'd say that's the only person who maybe should consider buying these GPUs.

Even then, I would not recommend you to SELL your old GTX card and then buy this one. Keep it! Once you've tried the new RTX GPU that you wanted to try so bad, I am sure you'd wanna go back to the GTX 1080 Ti or whatever the model you had before, because you aren't going to notice almost any upgrade in terms of frames per second.

Although, if you are someone who's just curious if these new cards are going to be any worthy upgrade? I am sure you've already found your answer by now and have already decided not to give a sh*t about this new release of GPUs.

Should a Video Editor upgrade to the RTX cards?

Nvidia RTX for Video Editing

Nope, still no, fortunately! 😅

Because these new RTX graphic cards were designed keeping the future of VIDEO GAMES in mind, I am not confident that they're going to be any useful for video editors and content creators.

Video Editing does not require a GPU most of the times anyways. Because the only thing it needs is a beast of a CPU, and a decent enough GPU would do the job, whenever there are some effects that need some help from the Graphics Card inside of your computer.

There's one thing, though...

How about 3D animation and Visual Effects?

Nvidia RTX for 3D animation

I'm a little bit concerned about this one myself.

Because these new RTX GPUs are improving on the Ray-tracing Technology, which relates to 3D graphics, I am not sure, but I think these new GPUs will be helpful for Professional 3D and VFX artists who do this thing for some serious money.

I think you should just wait and see if there's a proven study, or results or something that show the benefits of using Nvidia RTX cards for 3D animation or visual effects. If those results end up convincing you to buy one, then yeah, you SHOULD get this card! 😉

But, if you're still thinking if this is going to be a worthy upgrade? I think you should just skip this update from Nvidia in their GPU lineup, to be honest. Because if it was beneficial for gaming, or video editing, they would've shown it in the official presentation then and there, without making their customers scratch their heads and confusing them.

What's the Best Gaming Laptop Brand? (Survey)

On September 22, 2018 at 5:28 PM (GMT +5), I posted a Poll in a Facebook Group, asking the question we all are here to know the answer of.

What is the Best Gaming Laptop Brand?

Guess what?

112 members of the group participated in that poll. 🎉

Today, after 24 hours of posting that survey, I am here to share the results with you. But, if you do not want to read the whole post, let me just share my short and sweet answer with you.

Honestly, It does not matter which is the "best"gaming laptop brand, or which one you go with in the end. All that matters, is that you simply write down what specs are you interested in, and then filter out laptops that DO have those specs, and then you can simply pick the one based on the laptop brand that you've had most success or satisfying experience with.

Now that you've read MY opinion, let's go ahead and take a look at what those 100+ participants had to say about this question.

What's the Best Gaming Laptop Brand? (100+ Participants)

What's the Best Gaming Laptop Brand?

Let us see what all those 100+ participants had to say. Which brand did they vote for the most?

What's the Best Gaming Laptop Brand? (Survey)
These votes are for the first part of the question, which is What is the Best Gaming Laptop Brand, in Your Opinion?

But, I also wrote "Any Why" with it, as you can see in the picture. So, let's go ahead and take a look what are those 7 comments saying about that second part of our question, Why they think a specific gaming laptop brand is best?

Acer is the Best Gaming Laptop Brand

As you can see in the picture, Kifayat says that he does not have one yet, but perhaps he did some research and found out that Acer offers the best bang for the buck type of laptops. Which is the reason why I voted for Acer, as I own an Acer Predator Helios 300, as of now.

Alienware is the Best Gaming Laptop Brand

Ammar, on the other hand, says that Alienware is the best, but is overpriced in his opinion. I too think that Alienware gaming laptops and even desktops are overpriced. But, there's another thing, they charge for the quality and design mainly i think, the Swag that comes with buying an Alienware product, that's the main selling feature of their gaming laptops.

What is the Best Gaming Laptop Brand

And this person right here, is just making a sarcastic comment, lol. Just ignore him. He was one of the 7 comments, so I thought why not share what he had to say as well. 😁 Actually these laptops were crap, so he's just making fun of those crappy laptops, and calling them the best gaming laptops!

Best Gaming Laptop Brand

Here, Kifayat, who says that Acer is the best gaming laptop brand, argues with Ammar who said that HP's Omen series is the best for gaming, and is cheapest of them all. You can read for yourself what these two are arguing about with each other.

I think the Omen is a bit higher quality product, than Acer Predator Helios series. That is why they charge a bit more than these laptops, and offer a bit less in terms of specs. This is why I have gone ahead and bought an Acer Predator Helios 300, because it was the best laptop of 2018, and I couldn't find a better value laptop than the Helios 300 from Acer, for the least price.

In fact, I have even said in my previous articles, that the Predator Helios 300 is still the best gaming laptop, in 2019, if you purely want a gaming laptop and do not have plans to do anything else, like editing videos or photos or something that mainly requires CPU power.

Well, that's it for this post.

If you feel that I've left a gaming laptop brand out, and it is not mentioned in the survey or poll, please share your opinion about that brand down in the comments below.

How to Build a Gaming Laptop in 2019? (Yeah, you read it!)

Normally, if you ask someone this question, How to Build a Gaming Laptop? They'll probably laugh out loud or something.

But, that's not gonna happen here at Laptop Anatomy! 🙂

Even though it is technically impossible to "Build" a Gaming Laptop. But, there is a way that you can Build a Gaming Laptop of your own, just like we Build a Gaming PC. That is exactly what I am going to share with you today.

How to Build a Gaming Laptop? - Step by Step

How to Build a Gaming Laptop?

Ever heard of Amazon.com?

Yup, that's the one! 😉

We'll be using Amazon.com to build ourselves a gaming laptop today. So let's get started with this step by step process...

Step 1

Open up Amazon. There? Great! Now type "Gaming Laptop" in the Search Box above, and hit Enter.

Step 2

After that, you'll see a Filters section on the 👈 left hand side. Scroll down a little bit, and you'll see a Box where you can enter your maximum budget for the gaming laptop you wish to purchase. Enter in any amount you want. I'll be entering $1,000 here for instance.

Step 3

After that, select what CPU or Processor would you like in the Gaming Laptop you are building right now. I personally would always opt for an i7, because they're the fastest and most bad-ass processors you can get in laptops for gaming.

Step 4

After that, pick which brand's Graphics Card would you like your custom built laptop to have inside. You can pick either AMD GPU, or an NVIDIA one. If possible, always go with an NVIDIA, in my opinion. So, that's what I am going to pick here as well.

Step 5

Now, select what Display size do you want in your gaming laptop? Personally, I think 15 inches are plenty, only go with 17 if you are planning to do content creation, because bigger screens tend to be more color accurate. I'm picking the 15 inches category here.

Step 6

After that's done, see what amount of RAM would you like in your gaming laptop that you are building right now. I think 16GB is a sweet spot, but the choice is yours, of course. I'll be going with 16GB of RAM.

Step 7

Here, I personally always prefer an SSD over an HDD, even if it's a Hybrid Drive, I'd always go and pick an SSD. It will cost you more, but in the long run, you'll be pretty satisfied with your decision of going with an SSD, rather than a traditional, old and slow hard drive of some sort.

Finally!

Yes, we're done!

After you have selected everything you want in your custom gaming laptop, you can stop adding more filters, and start looking at what Amazon has to offer you for all those specified requirements you had, out of the thousands of laptops available in their database.

You can open these up in different tabs in your browser, and start looking for the best of the best in the list, and pick the one you like the most out of all of them.

Best of luck! 🤞
