Logitech M325 Wireless Mouse

Best Cheap Wireless Mouse 2019

This one seems a really good one. 🤔

Because it is Amazon's Choice for people who are looking for Logitech M325 on their website. Which means people are looking for it by typing its name on their site. Which means it must be a good enough wireless mouse that customers are remembering its name and coming to purchase it again and again. Some of them probably have heard about it from someone else who's already been using it and found it to be a great wireless mouse.

No matter what the case may be, people are genuinely interested in this mouse. This is why I am sharing it with you as well in this list of best cheap wireless mouse that you should buy in 2019.

Cons:

  • Not Durable Enough

Can these cheap wireless mice be used for gaming?

Yes, they can be used for gaming. But, I wouldn't recommend doing so, that's another thing. Because if you have a gaming laptop, and you're buying a cheap wireless mouse, I am not sure what to say to you, to be honest. 🤦‍♀️ Just get a better wireless mouse with a better sensor, or a wired mouse altogether, for pinpoint accuracy. Because no matter how fast the sensor is in your wireless mouse, it can't compete with a wired one. Not for now at least.

13 Best Video Editing Laptops Under $1200 - [My Pick is...]

No one likes to edit videos on a crappy, slow and old laptop that can't keep up even with your multitasking skills, and hangs like crazy! 😩

I too have been facing these issues in the past, but after upgrading my laptop to the most latest available specs at the time, I did a great favor to myself, last year. 😉

I then thought, there are sure to be people who do video editing jobs out there, like me, or perhaps who like to do multitasking on their laptops. Opening 20+ tabs in their browser at the time, and browsing through them, playing a video or an episode of your favorite podcast in the background while you do this...

This is why I decided to find some of the best video editing laptops under 1200 dollars that are available today, and combine them into a package for you in this post. 🙌

As you read in the title, that there are going to be 13 laptops that I think are best for video editing in this list. But, in case you want a short and sweet answer, and want my opinion that which one of these 13 is the most value offering laptop, and I would buy personally? Then please let me share that short and quick answer with you...

Personally, if i had to pick ONE laptop out of these 13 that I'm featuring in this list, I'd definitely have picked the #1 laptop from this list. It is a 17.3 Inch laptop with an IPS panel and 1080p full HD resolution. It has the GTX 1060 6GB Max-Q version inside, which will keep the temperatures at the minimum and manageable point for the design of this laptop, so it does not get too hot. It has the 8th Gen 6-Core 12 Threads i7 8750H Processor with 2.20GHz of Base Clock that Boosts up-to 4.10GHz, and has 9 MB SmartCache. 16GB of DDR4 RAM and 256GB of Fast SSD storage. Basically, this is the one that I would recommend anyone and everyone who wants the best video editing laptop under 1200 dollars, that get this one out of this list. It has the most value it can offer at the $1,200 price tag, and offers the most powerful specs out of all the laptops featured in this list. Period!

Now, if you still want to read through the whole article, and wanna know more about each of these laptops, buckle up, because this is going to be a long article. I wouldn't mind if you dropped even at this point, because even I am not sure how am I going to write all those details from here on. 😩

13 Best Video Editing Laptops Under $1200

Let's quickly get into the list, I don't wanna write anything that does not help you picking the right laptop from this list.

1- Acer Aspire a515-51g-505g | Best Value | Omar's Choice

best-video-editing-laptop-under-1200

The name of this laptop is pretty boring and long, I'd have to say. I'm sure you agree too! 😁

But, the fact that this is the one that I like the most out of all the 13 I've featured in this, is enough for me at least, that we shouldn't make fun of its name! 😌After all, if it wasn't in the list, we probably would never have gotten anywhere, because the rest of the laptops are just your average Joe laptops, in my opinion.

But don't let my statements stop you from at least checking them out, and compare them with this one. Who knows, you might end up liking some other laptop from the list, if that one fits better to your taste.

Well, enough talk, let's dive into a bit more detail about what I like and what i don't like about this laptop, although I do not think there are any major cons in my eyes about the Acer Aspire a515-51g-505g 😏

Its 17.3 Inches of Display

Yep, as I mentioned in my short and sweet answer above. Only two laptops in this list feature a 17 Inch display, and this is one of them. It's a plus point for sure in my eyes, because 17 inch displays are more video editing workflow friendly, as most professional video editors end up having to buy a dedicated monitor for color correction, grading and even to see clearly what they're doing, which they can't on a tiny 15 inch display.

So again, if this laptop did not have this 17 inch screen, I probably would have looked elsewhere, ignoring the rest of the great specs it has.

Powerful 6-Core i7 Processor

This is another one of its Pros that led me to decide to buy this one, instead of the rest of the ones that are featured here. Because only 4 of these 13 laptops feature a powerful 8750H Processor, and a few of the rest offer the toned down version that is focused more on saving battery life, the "U" version. That low powered version is sure going to have low temperatures, but it won't be as powerful and fast enough and won't be able to compete with its "H" version processor.

In case you wanna know the entire story behind these letters that Intel throws out with its Processors, watch this handy video from Linus.

It has GTX 1060 6GB

Another one of the reasons I chose this one as the best out of all these 13 laptops, was that it had the Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB version GPU in it. Only two out of these thirteen laptops feature a GTX 1060 Graphics Card from Nvidia, and the other one has the 3GB version, so it was a no brainer for me to go with this one, instead.

Because in future, if you decide to play some games, this one would be a better suitable laptop for that game, even if you're a few years in the future from 2019.

Even though the design of this laptop does not seem to be that air-flow friendly, so it can't handle heat very well. But, the fact that it has a Max-Q GPU in it, is going to be a lot helpful for it to manage a bit controlled heat that it would put out sometimes, because the Max-Q version of a GPU is always efficient and does not put out fire-like heat. In my opinion, the max temperatures on this laptop would be round about 80°C.

I think that's about it. These were the things that made me pick this laptop out of all the 13 of them. But, if you still wanna have a look at the other options, feel free to do so.

2- CUK Pavilion Gaming 15t

Best Video Editing Laptops Under 1200 Dollars

Initially, I wanted to pick this laptop as my favorite one out of all these 13 video editing laptops. But then, when I found another laptop that was offering more value than this one, 6GB of GDDR5 Memory in the GPU, and 17.3 Inch display, then I had to go with that laptop instead.

But, let's discus what are some of the Pros and Cons it has on its own, without comparing it to any other laptop, because it already has lost in the comparison to the #1 laptop, as has every other laptop in this list.

It also has a Powerful 8th Gen Processor

The CUK Pavilion Gaming 15t also features an 8th Gen i7 8750H Processor, that's why it could've been the winner, and my personal pick.

It doesn't have the 6GB version GPU

It has the 3GB version of GTX 1060 Graphics Card, and the Winner, the one I chose had the 6GB version instead. That's why i did not pick this one as the best out of all of these 13 video editing laptops.

It has a smaller display

This is one of the reasons I did not pick this one as the Winner, as well. If it had 17.3 Inches of 1080p Display, i probably would've picked this one instead. But, then again, it also had to have the better 6GB GPU in it, to pass the test, which it does not have.

3- CUK Envy x360 15t

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

This laptop has a lower powered version of the 8th Gen i7 CPU, that has 4 Cores, instead of six. It does have a 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 240GB SSD in it.

In fact, it also has a 1TB of Hard Drive inside, additionally. It has a low performance MX150 4GB GPU from Nvidia, instead of GTX 1060 6GB.

It has touch feature, and also a Stylus Pen. But that isn't very important for video editing. Touch feature could be usable and could come in handy at some points while editing videos or multitasking, but the Stylus isn't all that important in my opinion.

It also is two-in-one laptop. It is a tablet and a laptop at the same time, convertible. I don't think that a tablet would be powerful enough anytime soon for editing videos on it. It had a powerful CPU and SSD in it, so I thought I should at least include it in the list.

4- CUK IdeaPad 330

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

This laptop had everything.

A powerful 8th Gen i7 8750H Processor.

16GB of DDR4 RAM.

250GB of SSD storage.

But, where it lacks is the GPU. It has the GTX 1050 4GB Graphics Card from Nvidia. Although it isn't a 17 inch laptop either, but if it had a 1060 6GB GPU, it could've been my second favorite pick in this list, and the second recommendation for you to purchase, in case you did not like my first pick very much.

5- CUK ROG Strix

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

CUK ROG Strix also has the powerful 8th Gen 8750H i7 6-Core CPU. 16GB of DDR4 RAM, 250GB of SSD NVMe Storage, and a 1TB of Hard Drive for extra storage capacity. But this one also lacks a GTX 1060 GPU, because it has the 1050 Ti 4GB version inside.

Although, it has a Full HD 1080p 120Hz display, but it isn't that important in our case, because it is more useful for gamers who wanna play and actually see up-to 120 fps in games. And the funny thing is, this display is also kinda useless for gamers as well, because the GPU they're pairing with it, does not have that power to offer you 100+ fps in games.

6- CUK VivoBook F510UF

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

The CUK VivoBook F510UF also has a low powered "U" version CPU in it, which is why I did not pick this one either. Because video editing is a really CPU heavy task, and any limiting factor would lower our productivity when editing videos on a laptop. Not so much on a custom built PC, but very much so on a laptop.

BTW, did you know that you could build a custom spec'd laptop as well?

The CUK VivoBook F510UF has a larger SSD though, and a 1TB of HDD as well. But it is a 15 inch laptop, and also does not have a good enough GPU. It features an MX130 2GB Graphics Card from Nvidia. Check out the performance difference between the GTX 1060 vs MX130 Nvidia GPUs.

7- CUK PE62VR

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

One of the main reasons I did not pick this one as the winner, is because it has an older generation of processors in it.

It has a 7th Gen i7 7700HQ CPU, which was enough for me to move on and not choose this one as my Top pick.

Although, it has a larger 480GB of SSD storage, and also has the Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB Graphics Card inside. But even if it did have latest 8th Gen 6-Core 8750H i7 Processor, i probably would never have picked it as the winner. Because it still lacks a 17 inch display, which is more valuable and more color accurate than the 15.6 inches one it has.

8- CUK GL73

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

Now this one does have an i7 8750H 8th Gen 6-Core processor.

It also has a larger 480GB of SSD.

It also has a 17.3 inches of display.

It even is a 120Hz display, in case you're interested in more Hz.

But, where it falls short, is the GPU. 😓

It has a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB Graphics Card from Nvidia. And in case you wanna check out the performance difference between these two GPUs, check out this link.

Well, what can we do. They have to make compromises somewhere, to keep the price as low as possible, so it can fit in the budgets of people like you and me.

Only if it had a 1060 6GB version GPU, I'd have loved to pick the CUK GL73 as the winner of this list, and recommended it for sure.

9- 2018 HP Envy 17.3

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1200

As you've already figured out from its name, that it has a 17.3 inches display. But where it lacked was the CPU department. It also has the "U" version 8th Gen CPU that is focused more on power efficiency and not on performance, which is what we are looking for, so it can be used as a video editing laptop.

It also has one of the largest SSDs we've featured so far in this list. A 512GB SSD + a 1 Terabyte of Hard Drive. Total of 1,536 Gigabyte of Storage capacity.

Unfortunately, the lower performance GPU, MX150 4GB, and the low powered CPU kept it from winning the #1 spot and recommendation from me.

10- CUK VivoBook K570

This laptop also had a lower powered "U" Processor. A GTX 1050 2GB Graphics Card. A 15.6 Inches of Display, instead of 17.

11- CUK W650

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1,200 Dollars

Now this bad boy! 😃

It had the most interesting Processor of them all. 🤔

8th Gen i7 8700 which they claim is faster than the Core i9 8950HK

It also had a 16GB of RAM, and 480GB of SSD.

But it did not have a 17 inch display, and it had a GTX 1050 Ti 4GB version Graphics Card.

The base clock of this processor is 3.2GHz and boosts up to 4.6GHz.

Has 12 MB of Cache.

If it only had a 17 inches of display, and a GTX 1060, even the 3GB variant, I would have picked this one as the #1 laptop of this guide.

But, if you still find it attractive, by all means get this one. I am just sharing what I think about these laptops and which out of all these 13 looked and sounded the best in under 1,200 dollars for video editing.

12- Lenovo Yoga 720 15.6 2-in-1

Best Video Editing Laptop Under $1,200

This one also is a 2-in-1 laptop, which aren't the most favorite of mine. I just don't like the concept of these laptops, because they tend to be more flimsy and do not offer specs as they could've, if they did not try to be a 2-in-1 laptop.

The reason I did not like this one that much, was that it had a 7th Gen i7 7700HQ CPU.

It although has the biggest Solid State Drive on any of the laptop featured till this #12 spot. It has a 1TB of PCIe SSD storage, which is insane!

It also has a 4K Ultra High Definition Display! 😲

But it has a GTX 1050 GPU.

If it had the 8th Gen Processor and at least GTX 1060 3GB Graphics Card, I definitely would have picked this one as the winner, hands down! 👐

You won't find the perfect match for the price, with the most latest specs and most favorite specs. But, when sometimes you do find it, I'd say always grab the device before it goes out of stock! And I think this one is one of those devices, in case you do not care about the older 7th Gen CPU, and the GTX 1050 GPU, instead of 1060.

This one is definitely my second pick, in case you do not want to go with the #1. 👍

13- Samsung Odyssey 15.6

Best Video Editing Laptop Under 1,200

This one also has the 7th Gen i7 7700HQ older Processor. Has a 16GB of RAM, but has a 15 inches of display. It also has a lower capacity SSD, 128 Gigabytes, paired with a 1TB of HDD. Another one of its main cons is that it is a Refurbished laptop, a Certified Refurbished laptop.

Although it has the GTX 1060 Graphics Card, but the other specs of this laptop aren't that interesting, so this one does not matter that much either.

Conclusion

Well, this was my 13 Best Video Editing Laptops Under 1,200 Dollars list.

Although I have sounded like no one of these laptops were that interesting, other than the one I picked. But that isn't the case at all. Which laptop is good for your workflow, only you can decide that. And I have only shared my personal opinion in this article. For your personal use, who knows, you may not even like any of these 13 laptops, even the #1 which is my top pick.

How to Build a Gaming Laptop in 2019? (Yeah, you read it!)

Normally, if you ask someone this question, How to Build a Gaming Laptop? They'll probably laugh out loud or something.

But, that's not gonna happen here at Laptop Anatomy! 🙂

Even though it is technically impossible to "Build" a Gaming Laptop. But, there is a way that you can Build a Gaming Laptop of your own, just like we Build a Gaming PC. That is exactly what I am going to share with you today.

How to Build a Gaming Laptop? - Step by Step

How to Build a Gaming Laptop?

Ever heard of Amazon.com?

Yup, that's the one! 😉

We'll be using Amazon.com to build ourselves a gaming laptop today. So let's get started with this step by step process...

Step 1

Open up Amazon. There? Great! Now type "Gaming Laptop" in the Search Box above, and hit Enter.

Gaming Laptop Amazon

Step 2

After that, you'll see a Filters section on the 👈 left hand side. Scroll down a little bit, and you'll see a Box where you can enter your maximum budget for the gaming laptop you wish to purchase. Enter in any amount you want. I'll be entering $1,000 here for instance.

Build a Gaming Laptop Under 1,000 Dollars

Step 3

After that, select what CPU or Processor would you like in the Gaming Laptop you are building right now. I personally would always opt for an i7, because they're the fastest and most bad-ass processors you can get in laptops for gaming.

Gaming Laptop Core i7

Step 4

After that, pick which brand's Graphics Card would you like your custom built laptop to have inside. You can pick either AMD GPU, or an NVIDIA one. If possible, always go with an NVIDIA, in my opinion. So, that's what I am going to pick here as well.

Gaming Laptop NVIDIA GeForce

Step 5

Now, select what Display size do you want in your gaming laptop? Personally, I think 15 inches are plenty, only go with 17 if you are planning to do content creation, because bigger screens tend to be more color accurate. I'm picking the 15 inches category here.

Gaming Laptop 15 Inches

Step 6

After that's done, see what amount of RAM would you like in your gaming laptop that you are building right now. I think 16GB is a sweet spot, but the choice is yours, of course. I'll be going with 16GB of RAM.

Gaming Laptop 16GB RAM

Step 7

Here, I personally always prefer an SSD over an HDD, even if it's a Hybrid Drive, I'd always go and pick an SSD. It will cost you more, but in the long run, you'll be pretty satisfied with your decision of going with an SSD, rather than a traditional, old and slow hard drive of some sort.

Gaming Laptop SSD

Finally!

Yes, we're done!

After you have selected everything you want in your custom gaming laptop, you can stop adding more filters, and start looking at what Amazon has to offer you for all those specified requirements you had, out of the thousands of laptops available in their database.

How to Build a Gaming Laptop

You can open these up in different tabs in your browser, and start looking for the best of the best in the list, and pick the one you like the most out of all of them.

Best of luck! 🤞

Best Gaming Laptop Under $800 in 2019 (Trust me, it's the best!)

Honestly, In my opinion, buying a gaming laptop in under $800 is not a smart thing to do! Instead, I'd say, don't buy one yet, especially right now, as you do not have enough money to buy a good gaming laptop that you will love, and not criticize for the months you will be using it.

But still, If I can't change your decision, and you really, REALLY want one, in under $800 budget, I have found one for you.

Although, as you perhaps already know, that you will have to make some compromises, if you want a budget gaming laptop that has latest specs.

Keep reading, and you'll find out what are those compromises that you'll have to make, buying this laptop. Although, I don't believe these should change your decision of buying this laptop, let me clear that before you read further.

One last thing...

I couldn't find any other laptop with 8th Gen i7 CPU, which is the main part of any computer or laptop and decides its lifespan.

Dell Inspiron 17 5770

Best Gaming Laptop Under $800 in 2019

The laptop we'll be talking about today, is the Dell Inspiron 17 5770. We'll see what are its main Pros and Cons, and afterwards, you can decide if you want to invest in buying this laptop or not.

So, here we go...

Pros:

I'll be mentioning this that I like about Dell Inspiron 17 5770 in this section. Let's move on to the first thing I like about it.

1- Great Processor

It has the Latest 8th Generation Core i7 8550U Processor. It is FAST, POWERFUL and EFFICIENT at the same time. It has 4 Cores and 8 Threads. It has base frequency of 1.80GHz, and turbos upto 4.0GHz. It has 8MB of Cache. Seeing the specs of this CPU, I think it will help quite a bit in keeping your laptop's temperatures under control, most of the times, when it is not running at full speed of 4.0GHz. It will run all the games, no sweat!

Also, you can use this laptop with its 8th Gen latest processor for editing videos, if you plan to do some of that on it. Won't recommend solely getting it for Video Editing or 3D animation, though.

Helios 500 would be a better machine for editing videos or doing 3D work, solely. Whereas you are here looking for a laptop under $800, so I am not sure if you'll have any plans to buy a $2000 laptop like this one.

2- Plenty of Fast RAM

The Dell Inspiron 17 5770 has 16GB of FAST DDR4 2400MHz RAM. It is plenty for playing all the games, won't be a limiting factor in any game I know of.

3- Plenty of Storage

This is another one of its Pros, that it has a 2TB of HDD Storage. You won't ever have issues of running out of space, to store all those Large Size games. Although, the Storage is also one of its Cons.

4- A Big Display

It has a BIG 17.3 Inches of Full HD 1080p Display. It has a Pixel Density of 127 PPI. Unfortunately, you can't upgrade it either, to 4K or something. You shouldn't either. Because it will raise the overall price of the laptop, and we're talking about a gaming laptop under $800 here.

5- Is Under $800

Of course, one of the biggest Pros of this Dell Inspiron 17 5770 is that it is in our budget, under 800 bucks. In fact, its $800 price is the reason we're here even talking about this laptop.

6- Positive Reviews

I've looked at the reviews of this laptop, and found that most of the reviews are positive, 4-5 stars. And of course, why won't there be positive reviews, this is the best laptop they could get in this budget, and they're happy about their purchase decision.

Cons:

Let's now move on to discussing some of the Cons that I have found in this gaming laptop. I do not think these are that important, but still, we have to talk about them, right? Let us then...

1- It's Heavy

It's kind of heavy, I think. (for my taste at least)

Its weight is 6.15 lbs. The laptop I have right now, Helios 300, I thought THAT was heavy for me. Helios 300's weight is 5.95 lbs. (Pounds)

Well, if you don't travel much, and want it for mostly gaming at home, I'd say keep it on a table and don't move it too much, if you do not want sore arms from carrying it everywhere.

2- HDD Storage

You must be thinking, wait a minute, did you not mention it in the Pros of this laptop?

Yes, yes I did. 🙂 You're right.

But, the thing is, it where it has good storage capacity, on the other hand, it has a Hard Drive based storage drive. It is a 5400 RPM hard drive. I think they at least should've added a 7200 RPM drive in there, if they did not want to put an SSD instead.

But still, compromises like these are expected, when you are on a budget. So I don't think this is too bad, because you're getting a 2TB of storage capacity. At least they did not put a 1TB HDD in there, that would've been a deal beaker for me right there, to be honest, if they'd done that.

3- Its a Refurbished Laptop

Now you don't need to panic here. Because usually, people think that a Refurbished laptop should always be avoided. But it is a good way to save some bucks, and get the most specs in the lowest possible cost.

Also, this is not a regular Refurbished laptop. The Dell Inspiron 17 5770 is a Certified Refurbished gaming laptop.

Certified refurbishment is the distribution of products, usually electronics and electricals, that have been previously returned to a manufacturer or vendor for various reasons like not sold in the market or new launch of a product. They are repaired by the original manufacturer and resold. - Wikipedia

I don't think you should be worried about it being a Certified Refurbished laptop, honestly. Because this isn't something to be worried about in the first place, as mentioned in the above Wikipedia explanation of What Certified Refurbished Means.

4- AMD GPU

After the point of it not having an SSD, this was the second point that got my attention and got me thinking a little bit.

Because, an AMD GPU usually under performs, when compared to a similar spec'd Graphics Card from NVIDIA. If they'd gone with NVIDIA GTX 1050 instead, even a 2GB version would probably have been a better choice, I think.

But, to save some cost, they opted for AMD Radeon 530 instead. Probably because it had 4GB of VRAM, instead of 2 that you would have gotten with the GTX 1050. I guess they wanted to save some cost, and also at the same time, offer more where possible.

Conclusion

Overall, I think this is a good gaming laptop under $800. Affordable, and still offers the most value it can at the price. I am not sure if this is going to be Out of Stock soon or not, but if it is still available whenever you check it out, I'd say get it for sure. We do make compromises every time we're on a tight budget, but the ones I have mentioned in here, I believe are the ones that can be ignored, if possible.

Acer Predator Helios 500 - Best Gaming Laptop 2019?

This is our first addition in the series called Best Gaming Laptops 2019.

Acer Predator Helios 500 is a very, very capable laptop!

In fact, I'd even say that it is a PERFECT laptop for any kind of use, in 2019. No matter if you are planning to Game on it, or to play games as well as start streaming on Twitch at the same time. Or perhaps you want a laptop for 3D animation, editing videos, or any kind of content creation, it has got your back.

Anyways, without further ado, let's get into why Acer's Predator Helios 500 is the Best Gaming Laptop in 2019.

Acer Predator Helios 500 - Best Gaming Laptops 2019

Display

Acer Predator Helios 500 Display

Let's first talk about its display!

The 144Hz, Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution display that supports G-Sync is one of this laptop's main features.

It has good color accuracy too, which would come in handy for tasks like Video Editing and 3D animation, or any kind of creative work you'll be doing on its screen, that requires you to add and monitor precise color changes.

Even playing games will be that much enjoyable, when you'll experience real-life colors while gaming on this laptop, thanks to that beautiful 17.3 Inches of IPS Panel.

Unlike Predator Helios 300, or any other laptop for that matter, that has a 60Hz display, you'll experience all the High Frames up-to 144fps on this display. Which I've heard is quite an experience!

Processor

Acer Predator Helios 500 Processor

Now, the Predator Helios 500 offers you two options here.

Either you get an 8th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-8950HK that has 6 Cores and 12 Threads. Its base frequency is 2.90 GHz, and it boosts up-to 4.80 GHz.

Also, you can overclock this processor! (Stable at 4.89 GHz - Tested!)

The second option is, the AMD Ryzen 7 2700, which has 8 Cores, instead of 6 with the Intel's i9, and 16 Threads.

So which one to pick out of these two options?

Well, in my opinion, if you are leaning more towards Content Creation and Streaming, get the Ryzen processor. But, if you will GAME more, and content creation is a secondary and isn't that important for you, then for sure go with the i9 processor.

If both of these things have the same level of importance in your case, I'd still say that get the i9 version. Only focus towards AMD if content creation is the main purpose of you thinking to buy this laptop.

Graphics Card

Acer Predator Helios 500 GPU

I'm not sure if it is only me, or everyone else gets goosebumps and gets excited about GPUs too!

Well, the GPU it has, is the legendary GTX 1070, with 8GB of GDDR5 memory.

It's an awesome GPU for playing almost all the games at 1920 x 1080 full HD 1080p resolution with Ultra settings, and with over 100fps!

You can easily be using this CPU and GPU combo and not worry about upgrading for the next 3-4 years!

Acer Predator Helios 500 Game FPS

Above are the Frames per Second stats of this laptop with some of the high-end and popular games played today!

RAM

Acer Predator Helios 500 RAM

Seeing how the rest of the specs of this BEAST are top-notch, here it lacks, in my opinion. I think they should've only had the option of 32GB of RAM, instead of 16GB as base and 32GB as the upgrade.

Still, 16GB of DDR4 RAM is pretty decent for playing games, I'd say.

But, when something like Adobe After Effects and some 3D application will be used on this laptop, the only limiting factor would be its 16GB of RAM. Because everything else is perfect!

I wouldn't say that this should change your decision, if you were thinking to buy this laptop. The 32GB option is still available, if you want to double your RAM and future-proof yourself.

Storage

Acer Predator Helios 500 Storage

For storage, they have provided us with two options once again.

You can either opt for 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD, or a 2TB of Hybrid Drive.

If you are confused between these two options, and don't know or are unsure of which one to pick, I'd say, get the SSD version if you do not want to compromise on SPEED!

Personally, I've stopped using any kind of traditional or hybrid drives from these past few years, they just do not perform as well as these SSDs do. I've always loved to upgrade whenever there was an option!

Battery

Acer Predator Helios 500 Battery Life

The Helios 500 has a 4-cell Li-Ion Battery inside. It is 4,810 mAh, in case you want to compare it with your mobile phone. Although, being a beast of a laptop, this is not going to come even close to 2,500 mAh battery of a smartphone.

Because the total battery life they've mentioned, is 3.5 hours, which probably is going to be even less than that, as always.

But, the good thing is, that every Gaming Laptop out there is that way. They all have battery life that ends up eventually satisfying no one.

Besides, running a GAMING laptop on battery power isn't a smart thing to do, anyways, in my opinion. So sit back, relax, and plug your laptop into the wall, and enjoy an endless ride of high performance gaming!

Extras - Gimmicks? 🤔

- WAVES MaxxAudio®

I personally haven't experienced this, to be honest. They say this is "Designed for headphone use, Waves Nx recreates what you hear for a 360° surround sound experience, whether it is movies, games, VR—you name it." So, if you hear anything special or extra-ordinary, please share your thoughts with everyone else.

- 144Hz Refresh Rate Display

Now THIS is not a Gimmick, that is for sure! In fact this is one of Helios 500's main features. Everyone loves more pixels, more frames per second, and more Hertz in their display! The more hertz there are, the smoother everything looks.

- Predator Sense

Predator Sense is included in all of Acer's laptops. I am not sure what is the reason of their mentioning it in the main highlights of the Predator Helios 500. Perhaps they unlock more features as you upgrade your laptop. Please let me know if you have the right answer, in the comments down below.

- 16.8M RGB Color Options

I am not sure about this one either. They haven't mentioned if it is a feature of the Keyboard of the laptop, or the display. Please share your thoughts on it, if you like.

- AeroBlade™ 3D Cooling

Even if it is a Gimmick, I'd still be interested in seeing what it does, because Gamers do anything and everything possible to reduce heat as much as possible, which results in slowing down your Processor and GPU, if not controlled.

- Killer DoubleShot™ Pro

Now this could be useful, to me personally. Because this feature allows you to control which program is using the internet most. What program is set to priority mode, and which one do you want to limit from accessing the internet and wasting your data.
