Well, the Display it has, isn’t all that special. It is just another IPS panel that supports 1080p and is 60Hz, which means it can only show up to 60 Frames per Second in any game you play on this laptop.
I have been using this laptop for almost a year now, and I did not have any issues with its Display, even though I’ve done some light video editing on it. I didn’t think that it lacks color accuracy all that much.
But, for games, this display is decent enough and shouldn’t be worried about.
For Storage, it has to offer two options. One is a Thousand Gigabyte Hard Drive. The second is, a 256GB M.2 SATA SSD, which in my opinion is almost as fast as a Samsung 850 EVO.
So, which one should YOU pick?
Well, if I were you, I’d have definitely picked the SSD option. Because, the rest of the specs of our laptop are Top Notch, and if we pair a traditional SLOW Hard Drive with it, we wouldn’t be too happy about that at all, seeing the Hard Drive limiting the potential of the rest of the hardware.
That’s why, I would suggest you to get the SSD version too.
After all, why would you spent a Thousand Bucks on a laptop that offers SPEED, but has a slow and weak point in it?
Processor - i7 7700HQ 2.8GHz - Boosts up to 3.80GHz
It has the latest 7th Generation i7 7700HQ 4 Core, 8 Threads CPU inside.
It is PERFECT for playing almost all the current games on it. Go below i7, you’ll experience a lot of LAG in most games, and dropped Frames.
It can even handle tasks like Video Editing and 3D Animation. But, I wouldn’t buy this laptop, if I had plans to do these tasks on it. Please watch the video til the end, to find out why.
It has a really good Dedicated GPU in it.
With 6GB of GDDR5 memory, you can play all those Open World Games that require more GPU memory to even be able to play at their fullest potential.
With its FAST Dual Channel DDR4 16 Gigabytes of RAM, you won’t ever feel that RAM is limiting you from fully enjoying the game.
Most people think that 8GB of RAM is enough, but it isn’t true anymore, with all the latest and greatest games coming out every month, that require more and more resources.
Well, about the Battery life, which I think almost everyone pays more attention to than it really deserves.
Because, as you probably already know, an Unplugged Laptop that runs on just Battery Power, isn’t going to give you all the performance it has to offer, with all these great specs you spent your money on.
Knowing that fact, why would people even think about getting more battery life? You can’t even use a MOUSE with it and play with accuracy, if you don’t have a table to place the laptop on.
And if you DO have one, and even have a MOUSE attached to your laptop, please, just get up and also attach that Charging Cable with it, and enjoy your Game, AND your laptop, with all its might!
Overall:
It’s a PURE Gaming Laptop!
It’ll give you those buttery smooth 60fps and more, in almost all the games on 1080p resolution and High Settings.
But, I wouldn’t recommend buying this laptop if you are going to create a Gaming Channel in future, or plan on doing Live Streams. For that, I think you should consider the 2018 model of the Helios 300, instead.
It has the latest 8th Generation processor inside, which will provide you 50% more processing power with its 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads, which is KEY for such CPU heavy tasks.
Although, if you are not planning to do Live Streams or any kind of Content Creation at all, then get this laptop without any hesitation.
But, if you are even thinking of starting a YouTube Channel in upcoming days, or doing Live Streams, or perhaps you are just unsure about it, I’d say get the 2018 version in that case as well. You’ll be happy that you made this decision, when you actually do start streaming or a YouTube channel of your own.
